Danger! The Palestinian Authority has conquered Israel’s security buffer zone.
The Palestinian Authority has been hard at work for years, taking over the area between Judea and Samaria and “little Israel” by creating a band of construction that threatens every inch of the State of Israel.
Residents of central Israel, take a good look at this map. Inside the 4 km (2.5 miles) wide strip of land that is supposed to serve as Israel’s defensive buffer, running along the length of the “seamline” between Judea and Samaria and Israel’s coastal plain population centers, –there are currently no less than 18,899 illegal structures. Of that shocking total, 7,675 structures are located in the key strategic areas of the south Hebron region, Judea and Samaria targeted by the PA for annexation – less than 1 kilometer (just over half a mile!) away from the fence.
Every one of these structures is in Area C – the area under full Israeli jurisdiction according to international law. Some of them were built on IDF training grounds and nature reserves. They’re all part of the massive campaign of illegal Arab construction on Israeli state land in Judea and Samaria – a campaign that currently entails nearly 100,000 illegal structures.
There’s “illegal” – which is bad enough – and then there’s this whole other order of magnitude: The illegal construction along the security seamline is a massive terror infrastructure that we’re watching our sworn enemies build, right under our noses.
The people behind this massive strategic construction spree are the very same leaders of the PA who have proclaimed their support for the October 7th massacre in southern Israel.
This same PA leadership is training soldiers – full military training, not “policing” or “enforcement” but commando and tactical attack training. And this same PA leadership now controls the borders of Israel’s coastal plain and center.
It’s not “just” a threat to the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria, it’s a threat that is facing the entire country.
It’s time to wake up and shake off the concepts that have allowed these existential threats to take shape, literally on our doorsteps and in our backyards.
We must win this war – together.
