Following a petition submitted by Regavim, the District Court of Be’er Sheva ordered the demolition of tens of Bedouin houses that were built within the municipal boundary of Abu Basmah in the Negev
The order was issues following after Regavim requested the court to instruct the state to demolish tens of structures built in the area without authorization and against the law. The petition was submitted to the court after letters from Regavim to the Abu Basmah municipal council did not elicit a response.
The Abu Basmah council submitted an appeal to the Supreme Court, with a demand to cancel the ruling and a request to place a restraining order on the implementation of the District Court’s ruling. The Supreme Court instructed the State Attorney to join the deliberations that are taking place within the framework of the process.
